I anyone using a Cornet with a Transformer Volume Control? I have a vague recollection of possible mismatches between tube phonostages and TVAs. Something about sufficient current ???

The Cornet should work fine with a decent passive linestage.  That is one reason I put a nice solid output stage in the design.  It can drive cables and attenuators pretty handily.  Just keep loading above 10k ohms.
