Are there any passive preamps with a remote?

All:

I have been looking at the McIntosh 6500 and 6900.  I love the sound of those pieces, and I love integrated amps, but I also like having a remote!  Should I get a passive with a remote, and a MC202?

Bent has just announced a remote control option. Not sure if that's of interest..

I thought some Placette's have a remote.

If you want to save some $$ get an FT Audio LW-1 which will be coming out with a remote add-on real soon.

Write to Paul Lam and ask him about it.

If you are thinking you really need a remote all I can tell you is I thought I would really need one also, but after getting the unit I found I could just Mute\Pause my CDP if I needed to it off.

If you want to save a lot of $$, check out the Creek OBH-12.  Highly rated, and you can find them for as little as $200 U.S.  It's frequently referred to as a "remote volume control", but it does have remote source selection also.  I think they are only around $300 brand new.

How could I forget the Creek's.Although the FT Audio's have better input capability and will be adding a remote for alittle more.

I got lucky and found a used model.

Also FT's cirsuit allows for greater flexibility when mating with an amp I think.

Just a thought.

when i was using an electrocompaniet ec-1a pre, & wanted remote-control, audio advisor lost a sale, by recommending against the obh-12 - they said i would *not* like the reduced transparency...

but, creek makes a full-function remote-control passive pre - the 43r - that's supposed to be good, tho i have no 1st-hand knowledge...
