Out of the Furnace is an intriguing film, a character study about two brothers and life in a steel town. It's a film to settle into, not for those who are looking for a quick cut non-stop action flick although extremely tense, anything can happen moments are frequent. Definitely not a date night movie but if you like dark dramas check it out. I thought it was quite well done.

I found every scene memorizing, small wonder because the casting is excellent, the film features:

Christian Bale
Woody Harrelson (the meanest I have ever seen him)
Cassey Affleck
Zoe Saldana
Sam Shepard
Willem Defoe
Forrest Whitaker

Agreed that this was a good one.  It was different than I expected, but what a great cast and I thought the storyline was believable and good.
