Just a heads up on this failed 180 gram reissue of Yes's Tormato, the right channel is cut off at about 5,000hz. Kind of like listening to your record with some cotton in your right ear. Music Direct was gracious enough to take the record back, but the shipping cost would be about half of what I paid for the record.

I find it very disturbing that Friday music could let complete incompetent crap like this come out of the bullpen. This is inexcusable, IMO, and what really pisses me off is that they are doing the entire Yes catalog, and doing lots of them quite badly. I also did order Big Generator which seems to be OK, and I ordered Open Your Eyes on a different label (Sire I believe) and that is OK, but bright as the original is.

Oh well.......

I am not impressed with Friday Music reissues and generally try to avoid them.

Some of them are good and if you want a new copy, you have no choice. 90125 is very good as is TFTO and Drama. Relayer is bad, as is CTTE. I have the MOFI version of CTTE and APs version of Fragile, and a very expensive Japanese cut of Talk, so I'm sittin' pretty. I wish MOFI would have taken the cause and re-did the entire library, but what the hell am I thinkin?

I also have America/self titled and Homecoming which are pretty good, close to original sonics, so if you need a fresh copy of these, I don't think you will be dis'd. There aren't any other choices out there anyway, unless you are very lucky to find a sealed original version of some of these great classic rock LPs.

Carry on.....

Thanks Wayner,

come to think of it, I have FM's 90125 reissue and it is pretty good. I think I'm batting under 500 with FM reissues MoFi or QRP doing the entire Yes catalog would be a must buy.

Hope you are well,

Laura
