The Black Keys - Turn Blue

Just picked this up.  Different than I expected, but I like it.  Not as punchy rock-blues as the earlier albums.  A bit more laid back.  I swear I pick up a hint of Led Zep or Floyd sometimes - but maybe it's just me.

I cant ID a really catchy toon that'll get much radio play though, maybe the last one Gotta Get Away - so I dont expect as much commercial success.

BTW I got it from HDTracks 24/44.  Sounds great to me, but not sure if I can tell the difference between 16 and 24 from my computer / iphone.  (My main system is down at the moment)

Anyone else?

Don't know whether to get this one or not, heard it was a detour musically from their earlier stuff . I liked El Camino, Rubber Factory and Brothers pretty much but not enough to pick up everything they recorded.

It is different - but I like it.  If I think the artist is talented going in, I'll roll the dice and usually come out OK.

I bought the vinyl version after hearing the CD on my B&M's store system, last week. I like it. Very well recorded Drum kit, especially the kick drum. It has a psychedelic rock feel to it, which I kind of like, and is remeniscent of the music of my youth.

I tried on Spotify, and the only song on the album "Turn Blue" that's available is called "Fever".

They are anti-Spotify ! Thus I am anti- Black Keys!
Kidding, I just bought the new Broken Bells album  as they will put the entire album up either.
The wife and I will probibly buy this one  as well.

I agree with your assessment vs the earlier albums. May not as much as a must-buy as previous albums, but still pretty good.

They had the whole album to listen to for free on iTunes Radio "First Play" a bit back (which was where I listened to it), though sadly i don't see it now.
