I may well do that!Update:When pushing the cone in on each sub, both seem smooth. When pushing on one side of the bad cone the click appears. The noise is physical, as all electronics are unhooked, and is caused by the dust cap physically distorting, as if it's twisted.......... dent appears in the dust cap that goes away when the pressure on the cone is removed. I pulled the driver to see if anything was touching the cone. Nuttin'!
Bob, it probably would be cheaper to buy an advent woofer than to get this one reconed/rebuilt. Isn't it a nla woofer?
Next thing you'll tell is that they are pressing vinyl again!
" I'm not sure exactly what you're saying about the dent on the cap coming and going."The dust cap deforms with a resounding "click" or "snap" when the cone is pushed in from one side. As soon as the pressure is removed the dust cap returns to its original shape.
.......I may get up to STL this week; have a few errands to run.
