I have for sale a Promitheus Audio transformer volume control unit. I have owned it from new for about 3-4 years. It has had very little use however, as shortly after buying it I built myself a DAC that has volume control built in.

- Firstly, I replaced two pairs of RCA sockets with much better ones. These are the first pair of input sockets and one pair of output sockets. I replaced them with the excellent sounding CMC 805-2.5-AG “Super CU” sockets (silver-plated, very high copper content). This means that connections to your favourite source and your power amp can be made using the superior sockets.
- Second, I replaced some unenamelled ground wiring internally that was starting to show signs of corrosion. I replaced it with OCC silver wire.
Please note that the wiring I have redone is a little less neat and tidy than what was there previously, but it is competently done and offers a small improvement in sound quality as well as greater longevity for the unit.
