Basically Mark Mclaughlin (of Michael Green) was such a dick that (most) all of his posts were sent to our trash heap.

I wouldn't deal with them if they were giving away the stuff.

You might want to look into 8th Nerve stuff. They are similar to Michael Green, but are class acts.

They have a forum here at AC.

You know I had a feeling. Looks like I'm going to try some of Eighth Nerve stuff. Think I'l start with the corner controllers.

The 8th Nerve stuff has worked great for everyone I've known that's tried it.

I'm certainly pleased with their response controllers. I wish that someone would've made me use them earlier, as it wasn't a little improvement IME.

Like I mentionned in another thread, if you build a corner bass trap for floor to ceiling, which you should have anyways, you take out the tricorner, eliminating the need for these...

I don't think my wife will go for a floor-ceiling trap. It still has to be a livingroom. I posted some pictures in the Acoustic Circle forum.

A trap doesn't have to be unattractive: the PS Audio site detailed building their own listening space, including corner traps. The trap looks much like a bookcase (well, it IS a bookcase) though I'm not sure it would physically fit in your room.

That was a great article. The future plans are to get rid of the china cabinet. My wife wants a window seat and bookcases on each side of the window. I think we could do that.

After being one of MG's critics I was notified via e-mail that I had somehow "won" a 5.1 speaker system from him.

A quick check revealed the speakers to have a total retail value of $250.

Of course after a long wait, the speakers never showed up.

I really did try to understand all his "tuning" mumbo jumbo.

Reviving a 12 yr old thread!

Anyway...seeking opinion on MG room tunes especially long tune strips. Chanced upon an old pair and considering trying them out along the front wall center...between speakers. Are they absorbers, diffusers...or? Any prediction on what they would do along front wall center?

They are both, a little absorption, a little reflection depending on how they're placed.

I have a whole collection of long strips, corner pieces, small strips, even 3 very ratty standup ones. If you're interested in trying more PM me for such a deal.

I have had a set for a lot of years. They are nice for corners and ceiling-wall placement. I have not compared them to others so my opinion is limited.

I use the set here had them in 3 med size rooms work very well.
