Group of Fifty (50) 45 ST Vacuum Tubes
[SOLD] cash basis.
I will consider trade (see below).
I have collected a large group of 45 ST tubes that I no longer need, so I am putting them up for a sale
as a group before I piece them off on Ebay.
Right now I want to sell these as a group, but I may consider splitting the group for the right offer (individual tubes will be in the range of $20-50 each). If I sell any out of the group, I will update the spreadsheet and listing.
I tested these for Gm and plate current on my Westmore 501 (government version of the Triplett 3444). I have had a number of vintage testers, and found this one to be the most reliable for various tubes including directly-heated triodes.
For Gm, the Westmore reject point is 1100 and average new is 2200.
While there is no Westmore spec for plate current, the settings on the Westmore indicate that the test parameters are 250 V plate and -45V grid bias. The Class A plate current spec at 250 V plate and -50 V grid bias is 34 mA.
I have uploaded an Excel spreadsheet with a listing of the tubes, their test results and some notes. You should be able to download the spreadsheet from the following link:

The order on the list is a bit random (corresponds to where I have them in various boxes), but I have somewhat tried to group tubes based on common internal structure. In that context, the ones at the end of the list likely do not have complete structural matches.
While some of the tubes test like new, all should be considered “USED” for the purposes of this sale.
As you can see from the results, there are plenty in this group than can be paired up.
I can provide pictures or additional info on request.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
THE TUBES ARE BEING SOLD “AS IS, WHERE IS”.
In that context, I ONLY describe what I know about the tube, and what I have tested for. Although my tube testers tend to be reliable, YOUR TUBE TESTER MAY GIVE A DIFFERENT RESULT THAN MINE, so please take that into account. In the event of a tube tester conflict, MY TUBE TESTER CONTROLS.
I can take trade value, although I would like to get some cash. While my actual needs are very few, feel free to propose something, and I will respond to any serious proposal.
My main interest at present is a room correcting-preamp (such as a TACT or DEQX unit).
I might be interested in certain vacuum tubes (46, 2A3, 300b, KT90, KT66, KT77, 5AR4/GZ34, a larger group of tubes, or other tubes at the right value), or possibly other equipment or cables at the right value.
The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges (including but not limited to any customs fees, duties, import taxes and related charges).
The tubes will be individually wrapped in bubble wrap with an indication to correspond to the list.
I WILL NOT FALSIFY INFORMATION ON A CUSTOMS FORM.
In the USA, shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail unless otherwise requested. Outside of the USA, shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail International or USPS Express Mail International.
IN ANY EVENT, I EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR DELIVERY (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGE OR LOSS) BY ANY POSTAL SYSTEM, AND BY BIDDING ON MY AUCTIONS YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE THE RIGHT TO FILE A PAYPAL CLAIM FOR ANY SHIPPING RELATED ISSUE. If, however, you have purchased insurance for the item, I will assist to the best of my ability in the processing of any legitimate insurance claim you desire to file.
Cash is always welcome for a local transaction. Payment can also be via money order/cashier’s check/personal check preferred but, except for US Postal Money Orders, all must clear my bank first.
I also accept Paypal for convenience, but add 3% to use Paypal. IF YOU PAY VIA PAYPAL, HOWEVER, A CONDITION OF YOUR PAYMENT IS THAT YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE THE RIGHT TO FILE A PAYPAL CLAIM OR CHARGE BACK (but do retain the right to sue me in court should you so desire).
Please check my feedback on Audiogon and Ebay (ID=baileyler) and buy with confidence.
