VR-35 Placement idea
« on: 13 Apr 2014, 03:41 am »
I have had my VR-35s for almost a year and because of the shape of my room I could not get the speakers close to the wall. So I brought the wall to the speaker and what a difference. Bass definition is simply outstanding with the moveable wall about 3 inches from the back of the speaker.
My speakers are 23 inches from the wall which makes for comparatively loose boomy bass which just smears the whole thing from top to bottom. So I built a pair of MDF panels 16 inches wide by 36 inches tall and 3 inches thick. Glued and screwed with a flat bottom so it stands stable. With this moveable wall it is so easy to tune the bass to match the MTM and the room in general. The sound from top to bottom is spectacular to say the least. In my 13ft by 14ft by 9ft ceiling room these speakers are mesmerizing. At least this is an option worth trying just for a learning experience if anything.

Looks like a "Sound" idea to me.
