This is a very hard to find Sansui X 701 full function integrated amp with phono section.
Along with the X901, this is considered by many Sansui fans to be one of the last of the GREAT Sansui builds from Japan.

The X701 has left the building. It will be missed.


This unit is in great condition. I'd rate it an 8 for age, but it looks absolutely wonderful. I bought it a few years ago from a guy who had owned it since new. He had replaced the main caps and serviced the unit fully since he is a capable audio tech. I even opened it up when I received it and it looked almost like brand new. These are very reliable builds. Everything works--at least everything I've tried--I don't have a tape deck to check the tape monitor. Strong amp, will play very loud, but it's very quiet and refined.

Unit is black/gloss black.
Includes:  phono section, headphone output, tone controls, tone defeat, source direct feature, two sets of speaker outputs and other full function features. Smooth as silk volume control.

It's a moderately heavy amp, but I will double box for shipment.

Yes, I did a ton of research a few years back before even considering a vintage unit and
these Sansui models are amongst the best they ever built. And, given the superb condition, it seemed ideal.
I've been very happy with it.

The front panel has the incredible piano black finish.  The sound of this unit is very natural and clear in high to middle range with powerful Sansui low frequency.  The sound trend being started at AU-G99X was further polished on this model.
