Sure, it was the brunt of a ton of jokes, but I actually thought Chinese Democracy was a good CD. Certainly nothing coming out these days sounds like good old GNR, including new GNR, but still it was pretty good.

I'll go for a good #2. And after that, I'll probably buy Chinese Democracy 2.

I think it is an April fools joke....
I have all the GNR except CD and when it finally came out, I wasn't impressed by what I heard on the radio.  Perhaps if I owned it, I may have a different opinion.
I got tired of waiting and wasn't happy about waiting 10 years and they kind of lost me for anything new.  I agree nothing is as good as the old GNR stuff.

You got me…….it is my lame attempt at an April Fool's joke.  Considering how ridiculously and infamously late the Chinese Democracy album was, seemed amusing to suggest CD II was just around the corner.

Have to agree w/ jtwrace though - assuming a new album were coming out (GNR are still together / touring, no?), wouldn't seem the same without Slash. Actually, far as I know, GNR has none of the original members other than Axl Rose…….so is it still "GNR"?

No Slash....NO GNR.

Agreed! Slash's collaboration with Myles Kennedy has been awesome especially his acoustic live sessions:
