Saskia ll turntable

The most expensive turntable that I know of cost $650,000.  I cannot comprehend that.  On the other hand, Win Tinnon who posts under the name Mosin and I am sure a lot of you know of him set out to make the best turntable he could without regard to cost and the result is the Saskia ll turntable.  The Saskia ll is an improvement over the previous model.  I applaud and congratulate Win for making this turntable.

This is one serious table.  Speed fluctuations are measured in parts per million?  When Saskia I was out, Win was telling me about some rocket science type speed controller.  He was also contemplating a less expensive version.

$53K isn't exactly cheap, but I guess it's relative to what else you can get for that money.  There are quite a few actually, and I'd bet that Saskia II leaves most of them in the dust.  Hard to imagine for most of us peons.

Saskia I was sold at Oswald's Mill and they used to have a diagram of the idler design on their web site.  That's not happening anymore.  Here's another write-up:

The next expensive turntable is priced at $300,000.  Compare that to the Saskia.  I was reading a lot of Win's posts on Audiogon.  Win is a lover of turntables and the Saskia is a labor of love.  He put his heart and soul into that turntable.  It is time for Win to do the same at the other end of the spectrum.  Bring forth a more affordable turntable from a very dedicated and smart audiophile.
