SOLD. I just absolutely don't have the available room to keep these gems as back up amps, and they are so good they need to be enjoyed by someone!  I've substantially reduced the price; these are a huge bargain IMHO at my asking price!!

With permission, below are relevant details of the ad from which I purchased the amps recently.  The Thor's are indeed as described and magnificent sounding.  The mono amp setup just isn't going to work for me and I don't have the room to store these amps, and someone should be enjoying them!

These are the superb and rare Thor TPA-30 mono blocks offered are in excellent condition. They are beautiful to look at and listen to. They are built around the EL34s, and are designed into Thor's unique, vibration eliminating toroid chassis with all transformers, etc. mounted inside the chassis. Features include fuse replacement, bias adjust controls, and a built-in bias meter. All controls are accessed from the top of the unit for safe, user friendly operation.

There is the type of gear you would want to live with, they sound great and look good too - not an eye sore like the majority of amps out there.

Tubes have lots of life left in them, estimated at less that 1000 hrs on them. Each amp uses two SED EL34 output tubes along with one 12AT7 and one 12BH7A.  2 sets of output tubes included; I also have some primo Amperex EL34's (which make these amps really sound magnificent) that could be included, but the price would have to increase, as a quad of these tubes will easily run in the $400-550 range.  I also have a quad of the GL KT-77's (the reissues) that could be discussed if you want an  upgrade of the output tubes but don't want to spend the $ for the Amperex.

Original boxes, foam inserts included.

SOLD. My price ($SOLD!) includes shipping and Paypal fees, and is substantially less than I paid--my loss, your gain. CONUS only please.

I believe these amps retailed in the $10,000 range.  I've spoken with the individual (Ted Lindblad) that purchased Thor Audio (and has moved the company to Texas)--Ted is a delight to visit with and assured me that he was available for any service that might ever become necessary (and he has ideas for potential cap upgrades, but advised me to enjoy the amps 'as is' for the time being!).

Pics available upon request.

Thanks,

Randy

Hi Randy,
Are you near Chicago?  I'm really interested but would like to hear how they sound with my speakers. I currently use SS amplification but would love to hear these. Your price is excellent but Inwould like to try Jen and hope you are local.

Thanks

Jack

Only as near as Tulsa :).  Grab a SW flight!

Seriously, I understand. I purchased these based only on the reviews' description of their sound--I can say the reviews are accurate. To me they are the closest to SET magic, but with more horsepower than the typical less than 10 wpc. They are very balanced, smooth & I would say 'romantic' sounding if that helps.

jackman

Thanks. They are highly regarded and your price looks great.  I am confident they will sell quickly.

Randy, you have become unhinged.  Seek treatment - this is a give-away price on these.  I heard these amps once and loved them.  Some lucky buyer winner is going to really enjoy these.....for life.

Hi : These amps look like My amps ( which I sold ) .....I was the original owner and if anyone is on the fence I can give you there History...I owned them for about for about 10 years ( before selling them ) and had many upgrades done to them.......I had Downsized and had to sell them and can say they are wonderful  amps, and if for sure they are my old amps, they have had V/Caps and other upgrades internally.....At the asking price these are pretty much a " Giveaway "........

Jazz4tunes:  I purchased these from an individual near Washington, D.C.; he also posts here on AC from time to time.  If you sold these amps to him, these might be the same.  I'm not aware of any upgrades that have been done on them.

Thanks,

Randy

Dave:  I do think they are a screaming bargain at this price, but I just don't have room for them and already have too many amps!  If my speakers were less efficient and I needed the 30wpc, I'd try and figure out a way to make 'em work in my setup!

Yeh : It is quite possible I jumped the gun...They look exactly like the pair I had ....I sold my TPA 30's to a nice gent in Florida and he downsized and re-sold them ( to who I don't know...Anyway, from my experience to who ever the new owner might be....By them and then send them in to Ted ( @ Thor Audio ) and get the V/Cap upgrade.....Huge performance upgrade......Sorry for any confusion on my part..............

thorman

Sorry , but I actually sold my TPA 30's to a Gent in Texas ( not Florida ).........Dementia setting in!
