Well, there are helmet mounts already but depending on what angle you need, this could be the ticket. It's one of those items that once you use it, you will wonder how you did it before. I was the same way with the GoMount.
I already have the helmet mount which lets you adjust vertical angle but only facing forward since I stuck the mount there.

Still, it's going to stick up pretty high on the helmet....
