Vapor Audio Arcus in Brazilian Rosewood

We haven't built a whole bunch of Arcus', but have had much interest.  They're a very unique speaker, and honestly I think out of our entire lineup they're the most fun of them all!  They combine characteristics you don't often see in one package:

- High sensitivity
- High resolution and detail retrieval
- Large sweet spot and room friendly
- Incredible dynamics and power handling
- Great weight and sense of scale
- Room filling soundstage with complete transparency
- Equally good at 2ch and HT use
- And can do any music well

... and all in a relatively compact package.

Many speakers can do some of those things, and some of the speakers in our lineup do some of them better.  But this is one of the few or only speakers in the World that can do them all.  And it's only possible through uncompromised build quality, driver and crossover quality, and months of voicing.  I think this was the most difficult to voice speaker we've built, but once don't it's completely locked in!

In my house, having all our speakers to choose from, if I had to pick one for a 2-channel room where I know I'm going to also entertain and want to flat-out rock sometimes, the Arcus would be it.

On to the pic, headed for a lucky customer in PA

Nice! I'm sure they sound as good as they look. What are those other cool looking speakers I see in the background?

Those would be Cirrus.

By any chance, might the Arcus speakers be presented at AXPONA?

My dear wife has allowed me to go there solo...all three days.....what will I do? :o

No, they won't be at Axpona.  We've taken them to a couple shows in the past, AK Fest and RMAF in 2012.

This year looks like a new model being shown, kind of a baby Nimbus called Derecho, along with Joule White and Cirrus Black.  Maybe one or two others that would be on display and could be hooked up after hours.

Could we perhaps have a bit more information on the new Derecho speaker? I would be very interested in specs and pricing.

Could we perhaps have a bit more information on the new Derecho speaker? I would be very interested in specs and pricing.

Derecho will look like a bulked up, floor standing Cirrus.  It will feature dual 8" pro-sound woofers, a high sensitivity ultra low distortion 6.5" mid, and the RAAL 70-20XR tweeter.  Sensitivity will be in the 91dB range, with a low end cutoff near 40Hz anechoic (low 30s in-room).  It will present a 4 Ohm impedance in the bass range and above 8 Ohm elsewhere.  Should weigh in around 150 pounds.  Height including a small pedestal will be around 45" total.  That small pedestal will also impart a tilt to the cabinet a few degrees back.

We've already begun to cut pieces to start construction.

Target is in the $8000/pr range, just below Nimbus.
