SOLD: Super-V kit
« on: 28 Feb 2014, 07:10 pm »
SOLD and on their way to Reuben for some new custom enclosures before going to their new owner. Post some pictures guys! gab

Ever wanted to build the GR Research Super-V but didn’t have the $$$ or you simply procrastinated and missed out? Well now is your chance. You can’t get a set of the P-Audio BM12CX38 drivers anywhere that I know of. They are all gone. I procured a set when they were available for a build that is now not going to happen.

Included in this Super-V kit is a pair of “new” P-Audio BM12CX38 drivers with the rear tweeter housing milled out (done by Danny Ritchie and Gary Dodd). Pictures show a DIY baffle that they are mounted to (that is not included in the sale – i.e., drivers only). These have only been hooked up to the Super-V crossovers for testing and have about 4-8 hrs on them. Also included is a pair of crossover boards (upgrades include Alpha Core foil inductors and Auricap & Jupiter capacitors with everything else stock kit components - i.e., Lynx, Mills, Sonicap, etc.). Crossover components have been assembled and are fully functional. The components are connected via mechanical terminals. No solder was used and they can be used as they are. Alternatively, you can remove the terminals and solder the components. The crossover layout can also be re-arranged if desired. Complete flexibility for the builder. Each crossover board is approximately 10”x10”.

$1250 firm for this Super-V kit plus shipping (US only) and PayPal fees.
Everything else you will need to finish the Super-V can be procured from GR Research and the enclosures can be sourced from Rueben (outofthewoods ) at Fallen Enclosures. More details on the Super-V here: http://gr-research.com/super-v.aspx
Feedback on me is at audiogon under member “gabster”. Thanks for looking.

Ruben, I recall someone asking or talking to you about an enclosure for the Super V that looked similar to the Super 7. Can you post the pictures of it and aproximate cost? Thanks

Actually, this pair will be built to look like the 7's, too.

I have a flat pack order for AC member Gregfisk in the queue which will be cut to look like the 7's. I will likely be building a pair of enclosures for member para7452 in a few months that'll look like the 7's, as well.

I'll post pictures as I work my way through the orders.

Thanks!

Ruben

David's (david45) Super V's will look almost identical to these, but will be pearl white.

The ones pictured are Super 7's.

You'll be the first with the Super 7 look. :thumb:

Not a fan of the "penguin", huh? :green:

It was definitely a "love it or hate it" type of look.

Actually, when I was first commisioned to build the Super 7's they were going to look exactly like the Super V's but with the top stretched to accommodate the neo drivers. However, I was allowed some flexibility and with a little back and fourth we ended up with the current look.

These pics show them both at about the same angle.

Best,

Ruben

Not so much.......  One looks diy and the other looks pro. Nice design work!

I never did like the look of the Super V, it looked like a penguin to me as well.

When I purchased the kit I had always planned on doing a new design for mine. Then Ruben started showing pictures of the Super 7 and they grew on me. I'm going to do something else for the feet once I get the flat pack. Rubin is painting the sides for me and making the grills so I'll get to do the easy part. Thanks Ruben :thumb:
