  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Very sad, left us way too soon. I was fortunate to see him in concert on the "Friday Night in San Francisco" album tour in 1981 with John McLaughlin & Al DiMeola. It was a guitar summit full of fire and inhuman chops by three of the worlds greatest guitarists. RIP Paco.

Wow.  What a loss. :(  I first became aware of him in Carlos Suara's movie "Carmen".  His version of Rodrigo's "Conceirto de Aranjuez" is still my absolute favorite with none of the others coming near.  Even Rodrigo himself said that no one else need record it.  I'll spend the rest of the day hearing his music.

I just read about his funeral, didn't know he had died.
A truly gifted player and good man who will be missed.

"Renowned British guitarist John McLaughlin said that to have worked and played music with De Lucia was one of the greatest blessings in his life.

"In the place where he lived in my heart, there is now an emptiness that will stay with me till I join him," McLaughlin told The Associated Press."

May he rest peacefully...
