I'm a Die Hard Ritchie Blackmore fan. It don't matter to me if he's playing with Deep Purple, Rainbow or his new venture Blackmore's Night. I think he's the best damn guitar player walking on earth today yet he's only ranked 16th best rock guitarist overall, What gives?.  During his Rainbow years he put out some good tunes. Unfortuneately no where near the kind of production his fans demanded. And I'm reluctant to say that some of his bands efforts weren't very good. However there are a few diamonds in the ruff that appear in later albums. Here are my favorite Rainbow tunes.

I love Rainbow, but I'm an even bigger fan of Blackmore's Night.  I have all the albums including the live one, and I'd count B/N as one of my ten favorite groups of the last five years.  Blackmore is definately one of the true masters of guitar, and tremendously underrated IMO.  He really hit upon something great with Candace Night- apparently not just musically, as they've been married for awhile.
