« on: 14 Feb 2014, 12:59 am »
Hi guys need some help here on a new music server. I am looking at using the following parts. Any help would be appreciated.

Asus Gryphon motherboard http://www.asus.com/...ds/GRYPHON_Z87/
Intel Core i5 4670T http://www.quietpc.com
Samsung Pro ssd http://www.allneeds.com.au/prod801.htm
Corsair 16gb ram  http://www.allneeds....au/prod1154.htm
Corsair AX 750i power supply
Pioneer Blu Ray  http://www.allneeds.com.au/prod611.htm
Asus wifi  http://www.allneeds.com.au/prod560.htm
External 3tb hard drive connected to usb.
PPA usb card http://ppaproduct.blogspot.tw/2013/07/audio-grade-usb-30-pcie-card.html
The case i'm going to shoe horn everything in is a Pioneer Dv717 dvd player with a similar set up to damien55 post 118 here  http://www.avforums.com/threads/custom-build-htpc-inside-old-dvd-player.971222/page-4
Thx.

PS I will connect this to a NAD M51 dac. And want to use windows server r2 and JRiver. Sound quality is important.

dminches, your set up seems reasonably similar to mine. So the pico is working fine i take it. How do you find the sound quality. Would you change anything. Have you tried it without the PPA usb? Cheers.

Well it's been a long time but i have finally been able to install the parts from above in my first post but used the i5 4670T and Corsair AX750i power supply and the PPA usb v2 card. Haven't worried about the blu ray burner yet though.
Now for some help.
How do i get windows to boot straight to Jriver when i press the power button so its ready to play {don't need any passwords etc'} or warnings about adding trusted sites. Eventually i want to remove all unnecessary items.
And i want to be able to just use my Asus TF201 tablet as my screen and controller. And probably use Gizmo for Jriver unless there is something better. I have loaded Google Chrome Desktop controller on tablet and server but not sure if it's that easy to use.
Also what happens in regards to the Nad M51 ASIO driver i was using previously on my laptop with Windows 7. What driver is used with the Jriver and PPA card to Nad M51. I don't think that the Nad ASIO will work with server 2012.
Sorry for so many questions. Thx.
