Here is a pair of Speaker Factory Khorn clones. They are NOT made by Klipsch. They are a factory made pair and are not DIY. The Khorn clones used the original dimensions and plans from the Klipsh Khorn. The tweeters are aligned next to the compression driver horn throats instead of above. The tweeters are EV T 350s. The Compression drivers are made by Atlas and look to be the equivalent of the Klipsch Compression driver. Woofers are also by Atlas and are the 15" with square magnets and fabric accordion surrounds. All divers are original to these cabinets and are 100% operational with no flaws of any kind. The crossovers are modeled after the Type AA crossovers. The cabinets break down into to units per speaker. The tops cabinets are made of 7 ply birch plywood with a very nice cherry veneer. The drivers are mounted on mdf covered in a ery nice grill fabric. The bass bins are made of MDF with the same nice veneer. There are some small dings and dents on the veneer and some small trips have been cracked off. See the photos. These are still very living room friendly. The side grills are very well made and have arcs to allow proper corner placement. Some fading on the tops but a coat of lemon oil brings the color back.
These speakers sound fantastic. All the good attributes of an original Khorn for a lot less $$. Sensitivity is right at 103db so 5 watts will knock you on your butt! I have played them to beyond concert levels with a 2 watt SET amp. They can be demonstrated via a 20 watt SET.
Priced at $700 and located near Atlanta, Ga.
