This is the first I have heard of it - sure it is a digital amp?  I am not sure I read anything to indicate that.

Only the meters on the front panel are digital.  This is not a digital amp.

They were designed by Marsh so they probably sound pretty good. I think you could get a comparable amp that bears his name without the fancy digital display for less money.

Here are some images of the Monster MPA 3250SS amplifier.

Note the XLR input.  I'm not sure if it has separate balanced circuitry.

No wonder it weighs 92Lbs! :o  Check those 3X 500VA toroids!!

It has lots of parts count on the board.  Also note: monster cabling throughout.  Cereals not included.

The sonic quality is similar to Krell KAV3250.  I still don't know if I should keep it or not. :?  Thanks-Levi

The description on their website says that the input stage is balanced...

Oh, I didn't realize you have the Monster amp at your house.  How does it compare to the Classe?

The Monster 3250 sonic quality is similar to Krell KAV 3250.  Compared to Classe CAV-180, the Monster 3250 is warmer sounding and definitely has extended high frequency resolution.  I had to adjust my Rel sub level and frequency lower a notch.  It has less air between instruments but has excellent micro-dynamics and solid pin-point imaging.  It is not edgy, sibilant or etched specially when listening to female vocals like Patricia Barber's "Companion" cd.  No listening fatigue here.  On the low side, it is less forgiving like the Classe.  There is also that strong acrid smell.

The Monster compared to Classe is also fun watching movies.  Details, details and more details.  I have to switch back to Classe and make some more comparison.

I switched back to Classe amp and the mid-range resolution is more seductive.  I think the Classe is a better match with my speakers, cables and pre-amp.  I have to switch back to Monster 3250 and make more comparison.
