i'm autotuned out!!!

Had a tiler in for a 7 days doing some work.... he had his radio tuned into some top 40 station.

There was a distinct lack of inventiness in the melodies (which made it bad enough) but the degree of auto-tuning on vocals was astounding and incredibly irritating.

95% of songs were auto-tuned and of these, over half were auto-tuned to the point where it sounded like a robot.

Thankfully my formative years were during the late 60's/70/80's... when the variety of music/genres on even commercial stations was vast and real musicianship/vocals was on display.

I'm with you buddy, I don't listen to the radio anymore, and I most certainly could cause I drive for 9 hours a day, during the week.

Yes the 70's was the decade for bands especially for rock. The early 80's saw the emerging electronic music. Of course the '60 influenced the '70 especially when the 3 minute radio time mold was broken for long play songs.

I think we can credit Hey Jude for that, IIRC at 6 minutes long. 8)

1979 - Rapper's Delight by Sugar Hill Gang - 14 minutes and 35 seconds long. It's ridiculous.
