Afterburner 8 Outlet

I purchased one of these from Ellington HiFi as some guys were speaking highly of them.  I installed it yesterday.  Can't say anything about it yet, but if it gives me those glorious moments that the Maestros produce I will let you know soon enough.

I don't feel the AB is better than the Maestro.  I'll keep using it to get more time on it for some time yet.  I have patience.

Are you serious?  Sonically superior screws?  Total BS.  I agree, the outlet may be better but a claim that a screw is sonically superior.  That sh*t cracks me up!

oooooops, meant Randy!  Must of been one of those sonically superior screws made Randy spell out like Rany!  Oh this would of audio cracks me up some times.

They probably are sonically superior screws. But no one listens to screws.

Those look like the old FIM 880 outlets (except not in blue). The screws are probably non-magnetic brass.

Like all brass is non-magnetic, as it has no iron. Only copper and zinc.

That is my guess as well.  Yes, brass screws.

Maestro for my money.  Probably needs more time, but the Afterburner felt a little rough around the edges.  The sound with the Meastro seemed smoother but we are talking outlets here, so fine hairs, not coarse.

Perhaps the sonic difference is caused by the screws. You need to use the supplied non ferrous brass screws. They probably have a specific tuned resonance.  :lol:

How do these compare to the Furutech and Oyaide outlets?
Did anyone do a comparison?
