He helped write the book on " protest" songs.
All of us of a "certain age" will remember him as helping give voice
to many important social issues, including the Civil Rights movement, Vietnam & gender inequality.
Well done, Mr. Seeger !

 A friend of mine said today, (He was) "A giant of American music, a champion of Woody Guthrie; he practically invented modern folk music."
I have to agree and I, like him, could care less about his politics.
