Adding a note here to avoid bumping the ad. I ended up selling the speakers via Audio Asylum Trader.

Edited to reflect the sale of the stands (for the original listing price of $150). The speakers are still available.

I'm the original owner of this pair of speakers and stands. I bought them in mid-2000 (corroboration here if you need it: http://www.audioasylum.com/cgi/t.mpl?f=speakers&m=24916).

I'm willing to sell the speakers and stands together or separately: $900 for the speakers, $150 for the stands.

Condition
The speakers are in excellent condition. Up to a few months ago, I would have said near-perfect condition, but an unfortunate bumping incident caused them to topple onto a nearby TV stand, creating a small dent and scratch on one speaker. Neither flaw is very noticeable, but I tried to highlight them in the photos. I have two photos of the dent--one showing how it typically looks, the other with it highlighted as much as I could. As a test, look very carefully at the fourth photo above (shot of the sides with the backs facing each other) and see if you can spot the dent and scratch. Look up about four inches from the bottom of the left cabinet and draw an imaginary line from the front to the back.

The stands are in very good condition. Structurally, there are no problems (they are built like a tank--all welded with robust spikes). Cosmetically, they have some hairline scratches, and the powder coating wasn't perfect when I bought them. Again, it's nothing that you would really notice in the room, but some things are more apparent in close-up photos. The stands came with sticky blue pads. Six of the eight are intact, but the other two are mangled. I'll include them anyway.

I have the original manuals, boxes, and packing materials.

You'll notice that I have no photos with the grills removed. That's because they fit so tightly I'm afraid to remove them for fear of damaging either the cloth or the veneer. I've seen the speakers "naked" only once. When I bought them there was a small tag on a thread that ran behind a corner of each grill, and that let me pull those corners out and then free up the rest of the grills. Once I reinstalled them (without the thread), I've never removed them again.

Payment and Conditions
I have a PayPal account. I've used it only a few times to pay for items, but never to receive payment. I gather that receiving payment is simple, but PayPal takes about 3%. I'll handle that fee. I will also accept USPS money orders.

I will sell/ship only to members in the continental U.S. I just don't want to deal with customs forms, etc.

Shipping
The buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will work with you to minimize costs. It looks like FedEx will be cheaper than UPS, but there may be other viable options.

The original Sound Anchors boxes are very sturdy (just like the stands), and I don't think double boxing is necessary or cost-effective.

The original Spendor boxes are pretty sturdy, but I'd feel better about double-boxing them. Each box is about 25"x16"x15". I bought U-Haul "dish barrel boxes"(28"x18"x18") and plan to pad the space between with foam board from Lowe's or Home Depot, bubble wrap, or other foam. I will cover the costs of this packing material. Shipping weight should be around 50 lbs. per box.

About Me
I'm an infrequent poster here. I used to be more active before the Ellis Audio circle closed down.

I used to sell items on eBay, but I haven't done that in years. My user ID there is "lsutigerfans", and I have a 100% positive feedback rating. Most of my transactions were for small items (books, CDs, etc.), but I did sell several components, including a Rega Planet, Sony ST-S730ES tuner, Legacy Audio Classic speakers, Pioneer SA-9100 integrated amp, McCormack Micro amp and preamp, and others that I can't recall.

I've sold one piece of equipment here (a Lavry DA10 DAC) to a member with the handle "buzzinghive." I thought the transaction went well, even though I initially said I would not ship outside the continental U.S. (which I will also say here).

I'm located in Madison, Alabama (ZIP 35758).

I have a small web site (http://home.hiwaay.net/~rgs) that documents some of my DIY projects. Some of my projects are documented at http://lumberjocks.com/RonStewart/projects. These sites should give you an idea about how carefully I treat the things I build and own.

Thanks for looking... and please don't make me turn to Audiogon or eBay. :-)
