Magnepan MMGs, Ohm MicroWalsh Talls, and Mark & Daniel Rubys all sound superb with my tricked out Cyclops. (The Maggies are particularly sublime.)

For reference, these are the specs for the Rubys:

Frequency Response: 45Hz-25KHz
Two-way Crossover: 900Hz
Nominal Impedance: 3-6 Ohms
Average Efficiency: 82.5dB/2.83V/1m
Power Handling: ≧ 80 Watts per channel

Never had an issue driving them with the Cyclops.

Since I got mine 4 years ago my Khartago has been used with my medium efficiency (85 dB) stand mounted two way speakers. They were a great match. Two days ago I took delivery of a pair of Omega speakers. Radically different, they are single driver, no-crossover, 94.5 dB floor standers. They are supposed to sound sublime with low powered SET amps. I'm sure they do but I don't have one of those on hand. So I hooked them up to my Khartago. They sound fantastic! Lesson? The kind of speaker to use with your Odyssey amp is a good speaker you like the sound of. The amp will take care of the rest. Check with Klaus to see if he knows of any synergy issues with your choice (and possibly to tweak your amp for your speakers). Then enjoy.

i have heard those klipschorns numerous  times, never liked  that horn, way to piercing, and tinny sounding. sure  they look nice with the nice wood, and they are huge, play friggin loud, but their sound is poor. dont rip me, thats my opinion, heard  them with several amps/pre's configurations. still dont like them, not my dram.

most likely, I will be stuck with the polk rti a9 speaker..... what sucks is its 8 ohm, and ill never get to see those odysseys in full bloom under a low load......  only 200 W   and those are rated at 500. i will still have the emotiva ones, but most 4 ohm soeakers are out of my range......

your thoughts on a solid minimum 4 driver 4 ohm speaker.

It really doesn't matter what nominal impedance your speakers are, or how much power they are rated for. A good amp is going to sound good regardless, and IF you're able to stay in the same room as your speakers running at anything close to 500 watts, the speakers are probably going to blow anyway. That 500 watts you're speaking of is more than likely a very tiny burst that those speakers may be able to survive for a 10th of a second, but certainly not continuously.

I have now listened to both pairs of Monitor Audio speakers I own with my Khartago/Tempest setup. Silver S1 on stands and Silver 5i floorstanders. I liked the Monitors better overall but they do not have the overall strength of the 5i's. One thing I have noticed with this amp is that it does have full control of the speaker and also exposes the shortcomings of the speaker. I do not know how to describe the sound exactly but did notice on the 5i when playing it somewhat loud that the amp would not keep feeding the bass as the volume increased. Don't know what to make of it but I think that it would not push the speaker beyond its limits. Does this sound odd to anyone. This is still a new amp and the 5i are not fully broken in either. Also would like to hear what the synergy between the Odyssey speakers and amps is. How do they compare with other simialr priced speakers?

I have never heard of any amp of any size reduce the bass output as it gets louder. What you're describing sounds more like compression, yet I find it very hard to believe the Khartago to be running into compression with those Monitor Audio speakers.

You said it is only 1 month since you have been listening to the new amps. Dont sound like the break in time is reached, if the low end is non existent.

/ just a thought.

give them about 6 months ob " always on " and then see what the sound is like..
