It's an interesting report.  I completely agree with HGST being the best drives on the market.  Their Seagate data seems skewed by older models that were known to have problems.  Modern Seagate is close to HGST.

I'm not saying you are wrong: but every time I've seen a report that showed Seagate to have a low reliability over the past 20 years: someone has said just what you've said above.
