Dear audiocirclers,

I know this has been said many times before, but here is another crucial reminder.

Please back up your music off site!!!

Do so even if you have the hard media still at hand.

Due to a freak turn of events that I would rather not get into in a public forum, I just lost  90% of my classical recordings 

I had gotten lazy with getting a backup hard drive thinking that since I have the hard media, I don't have to worry as much. I was wrong!!!

So far, 2014 has been quite a horrible year

So your HDD(s) or whatever is gone/dead and your original hard media is gone/dead too?......sounds like a bad dream.

I am truly sorry this happened to you!! It happened to me once, but I was able to get about 95% of the data back from the damaged HD. Have you investigated this? Is it possible or not? I hope you can get your music back....I know firsthand this is awful.

They were only able to retreave around 10% of the data.

Nightmare indeed!
