According to Beats Music's CEO Ian C. Rogers, Beats Music will offer it's MOG platform, changed, under the Beats name and app. MOG will no longer be available in the USA after 15 April 2014.

Your thoughts? Any MOG users out there? I liked MOG the way it was, I REALLY hope they don't muck it up. You can change the M to an F if you like.

I use mog, hope this doesn't change things for the worse. I know there is a lot of changes going on in this industry
Many new comers to the table and rumors of some companies buying out others, trying to be the "big dog" in the pack.

We'll have to see. I too like it the way it is. I get a one month free subscription to Beats to make up my mind.

Modified: I want to say also, Pandora has terrible software programed algorythims. People programing beyond there capabilities.

You beat me to the punch here. Just received an email that Mog will discontinue its service after April15 since being acquired by Beats Audio. I am very upset!!! I have discovered tons of new music and all my favorite artist will be lost after that date. The price will jump to $10 or $15 depending on the plan. Goodbye $5 bargain and Mog sounds better than any other service currently available. I say all of us who love Mog petition to keep it available! What do you think?

I like Squeezebox, the way it was. I liked MOG, the way it was. Now I have to change again. Maybe it's time to list other options.
The only one I know about now is Pandora. What are the others? List them even if you have not tried them......

Does Beats still have 320K streams? In order to download the Beats app I have to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 7. So I am waiting a bit.

I had Pandora for a year. Sound quality is inferior to Mog's and options are very limited, especially for those of us who like to listen to entire albums.

Mog was the only service I had problems getting to work with my Sonos so I don't know how it sounds. Compared to the others. Rhaposidy may not have the best sound quality, but seems to have more artists and albums. I still use Pandora the most. It has exposed me to tons of new artists. I may try the "Beats" service just to see what artists and sound quality are there. 10$ bucks a month is fine if they have good sound and huge depth of content (US oriented I hope).

Sounds like Beats will keep the sound quality of Mog. Only time will tell. $5 more a month and they will give you a free month if you are a current subscriber.  Hope it will work on Squeezebox!!!

I'm paying about $5/month for Rhapsody and it sounds very good through
my Lynx HILO.
It also works on my Blu-Ray player and that's kind of nice.
I don't know if that deal is still available but I just renewed it again for
a year and I think I have to buy it by the year for that price.

I have Mog. Beats sound promising but so far it is only available on Android, iOS,Windows phone and Sonus. I use Squeezebox and PC. Their forums are already filling up with complaints. I urge everyone with Mog to go to the Beats site and give them h%@#. Maybe we can get them to support more sources. It is that or go back to Spotify for me.

Hard to believe they are launching without PC and Mac support. I think they may be missing one of their users. Mog is great because of its high resolution. That is not even available on the mobile apps.

Where do I find the forum?  I only see Facebook and Twitter on the Beats site.
Here is a letter I emailed to Beats at hi@beatsmusic.com.
Let's get the word out that we are not happy and that Beats will lose many customers.
Feel free to use or edit my letter and send it in.  Thanks!!! I want Mog to stay!!!
-------------
I LOVE Mog.  I think it is the best service available to listen to high resolution music on my squeezebox and PC.
I have told many about Mog, and I many of my friends have signed up.  I also loved that is was $5 a month.
Looks like Beats won't support Squeezebox or either Mac and PC, which is crazy in my opinion.
There is NO way I could support Beats because of this.  I also believe you will lose a large percent of the Mog subscribers.  Unfortunately Mog had very little presence in the market place because of little to no advertizing.
I guess because it was being taken over by Beats.  That's a shame.  I have many friends who use Spotify that would have checked out Mog if they only knew about it.  Mog's marketing was very poor and Mog's socials aspect is not comparable to Spotify, in all other areas it was superior to Spotify and others.  I think if Mog corrected those two areas it could potentially take over Spotify.  Unfortunately Beats is only going after the cell phone market.  It will lose out on PC, Mac, Squeezebox and the like customers. It would be wonderful if current Mog subscribers could be grandfathered in with their existing plans when Beats takes over, but Beats would still have to provide a similar or better service with access to computers and Squeezeboxes, etc.  If this were the case your current subscribers to Mog would stay happy and help to promote your new service. That's priceless.  You should well know that any only service grows spreads much more quickly by word of mouth. Please keep your current subscribers happy, and allow Mog to continue unchanged or with similar plan along with computer, squeezebox etc. use. In doing this I know Beats would become a player in the online music market.

They say that you can play it on your computer. Most likely would be in the browser.

Phone access is what I use it for. At home I have all my purchased music to listen to.

This is the response I got from Beats:

Hello Doc,

I do understand your frustrations, but hopefully I can help. I see that it concerns you that there is only a mobile app for Beats, which I understand. But I can reassure you that you indeed can use it in a web browser at the moment and a desktop and even table app is in development. As far as MOG users being grandfathers into Beats, there is no way to do that at the moment, but this is also a known issue that is currently being worked on and will be possible soon. If you have any other questions or concerns please reply back to this email.

Thanks for listening!

I sent an email to Mr Rogers, asking him to keep MOG as it is. I don't expect that they will, but hey it's worth a try. I guess I will be going with Spotify, as soon as I make a note of all my FAVS. AAARRRGGGHHH

Bad news.  Mog is the ONLY streaming service I am satisfied with.
