I finally got a chance to A/B some KISS albums. I compared the 1st album and "Hotter Than Hell" to my originals. While the new versions sound good, and don't seem to be screwed with, the originals sound a little bit better. The new versions are not "bad" but being from Digital they seem to be "missing" something. They seem to sound a lot like CD. Sort of stale. While the differences are not night and day, there seems to "less" to the sounds. Cymbals don't have the same decay. There seems to be less "zing" to the guitars. I think if you have nice clean originals then don't bother re-buying these. If your originals are scratched and have a lot of "snap crackle and pop", then I would recommend replacing them. I wish these had been done AAA.
