Thank you. I guess I didn't realize that this would start a thread, but it is much appreciated. I do have lots of friends here at AC, and even tho I seem very "Spock" like on the outside, the insides are pretty soft. My mom developed Alzheimer disease right after my father died. I had early suspicions that something was not right when she told me that some neighborhood boys were shooting at the upstairs window with a BB gun. Her house was a rambler. Soon we realized that she could not be left alone anymore, so she was moved from her home to a minimum care facility. Soon after that, the diagnosis was confirmed and then she was moved to a memory care unit. The sad part of the story is that my 66 year old brother had to find someone to take care of his 66 year old wife who is also in Hospice care, suffering from severe Alzheimer disease (she is at home), and in her last days, so that he could come to the funeral.
Again, thank you all.
