I know it's a bit old (pre-dates this site in fact...) but... if you're a Sci-Fi watcher and haven't seen this, it's definitely worth a look. This film starring Christian Bale pre-dates his Batman efforts and the very strange (IMHO) Machinist. It doesn't seem to have gotten great reviews, and I could sort of understand why, but I still really like this film.

Hi John,

I liked this movie as well and I understand your comments about the success of this film.

It would have been much better minus the sliding face thing.

People try to say it was to much like The Matrix. Meh, I dunno, it's in the genre what are you going to do? Maybe if the budget was big enough for some cool CGI or a chase scene or something...

The concept of being able to move to not get hit is kind of interesting, but I think all of us know it isn't possible; you are going to get shot.

I raved about it when it came out.  I will watch it this week, to see if it holds up to my memory.

I really loved the film myself.  One of my favorite sci-fi flicks to be sure.  Looking back I think it has held up a lot better than The Matrix.

I've watched it a few times, tend to enjoy it. Except the face slide. I always feel like I need to apologize for suggesting to watch it when that happens.

The Matrix, re-watching, is amusing because of all the little gems in the first part before Neo exits the Matrix.

Hah hah, OK it could have done without the "face slide." Who invented that anyway? I seem to recall I saw one again just recently... Wolverine?
