I disconnected it and now my turntable as a source is really good?

Is there a common error I don't get that I am doing? I know the force was set right.

Hi,
You disconnected the AS mechanism or turned it to zero?

Can't figure it out from a distance.  There are quite a few things that can cause AS to be excessive.  One of the obvious suspects is azimuth error.

How can you know the force was set right when it was worse with it?   Skating force varies with groove velocity and offset angle.  There is no one "perfect" setting so it is usually set a hair low.  Did you try backing down on the setting?  If you used a HFN test record to set at highest velocity you probably had way too much.  It's a common error.  Other than that there's not enough information to comment further.  The table is considered a good one in its price range.

The Music Hall table uses a "dead man" weight designed for use within a specific cartridge weight and a certain range of VTF. Anti-skate action increases when vertical tracking force is increased. A combination of too heavy a cartridge (or a low compliance cartridge) and too much VTF may cause this action. Also to a very lesser degree, a non-level turntable platform may add to the situation.

You also may have too light of a cartridge and not enough VTF.

Maybe you should tell us what cartridge you are using and what VTF you are tracking at.
