By all accounts the man is a really nice person who cares about others and is responsive to his fans.  So it's not about the person, but the music.  Glad to know I'm not alone in that regard.  I'll slip mine under the table to the dog as well DD, don't really like fast food (except for Long John Silvers, which I am a ho for.  I also like Taylor Swift    )

It is often stated that people eat corporate food regularly not because inherent high quality, but because they know what to expect. It's a predictable experience, no matter its mediocrity. Untold numbers consume musical products for similar reasons I suppose.

And the offerings at McDonalds are cheap.

Bon Jovi's getting a bad rap here.  They are way better than KISS and KISS is in the Hall of Fame.

It is what it is...crowd pleasing arena rock: superficial depth, high on hooks, quality guitar solos.  Nothing wrong with that.

Are we now going to start threads about every band/artist we don't particularly like?  Seems like a waste of energy to me.

Since when has has the prospect of wasting energy ever stopped near useless threads about our favorite likes and things we hate on?  Whether it's "what's best" or "what's worst," we never seen to tire of arguing and debating the subjective merits of things. In the end, it resolves nothing and never will.  :duel:

C'mon - no ones gonna admit they haven't downed "Dead or Alive" on the radio like a Mickie D burger and shake?  The cheap cliches and power cords coming on strong - all sugar and fat and carbs with no nutrition. No one feels proud or brags about dining at McDonalds, but sooner or later we all end up there again at one point or another.

On sure....Absolutely, 100%.
All the while, my friends and I were drinking Mad Dog 20/20, driving around town in a cherry red jacked up Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with extra wide Cragars and a Olds Rocket V8 eating those Big Macs like our lives depended on it. I brought my home speakers into the car and put them in the back seat  (seatbelted in, of course, for safety) and we cranked Bon Jovi, Zepplin, The Stones, and Genesis "In The Air Tonight" past the point of distortion.

I think the adults called us shit-head, delinquent punks, if memory serves.

Bob - All growed up now.

This thread is making me chuckle!  It's funny- waaaay back in the day when I was a kid (early-mid 80's) my buddy Scott and I would cruise around in his Camaro, with the T-tops down blasting Bon Jovi! :thumb:  I quite liked their first two albums, Bon Jovi and 7800° Fahrenheit.  Those albums were pretty raw and unpolished (for hair metal ) and really rocked.  The funniest thing is that I remember turning to my buddy and saying, "Man, I like these guys but they're never gonna go anywhere.  They're just not commercial enough."  Of course, about a year later Slippery When Wet came out and they became one of the biggest bands in the world.

I have zero use for anything after those first two discs but I still like them, although I don't listen to them much anymore.  But I suppose I'd rather listen to Bon Jovi tune their guitars than hear a Kanye concert. :nono:

Tough crowd.  I'll go out on a limb, I like Bon Jovi.  Can't say all of their stuff, but certainly some of their songs.  Then again not sure there any artist I like everything they've put out.

I'll also go out on a limb and suggest there is some talent there too.  Believe they write some of their own songs.  Now one can argue it is singing talent, marketing talent, creative talent, or what.  Non the less, talent to remain in a fickle industry for 30 years.

Then again, what do I know, I like some of Michael Bolton and Kenny G too.  ;)

Oh and by the way, even though the monitor name may suggest otherwise, I am a dude.  Though maybe you can argue in everything other than my musical tastes.  :)

I like them. Born in the mid 70's in NJ and had an older sister with big hair.  No option.

Unfortunately Bob, probably one of many less than stellar lists I am on.

Btw, now that we have burried out of the foot+ of snow we got, hoping to try one of your culinary receipes this weekend.
