Re: CES News 2014

The Bryston room was best sound for the buck so far.

James and his team once again have done an amazing job at a show. Their room was rocking.

The Middle T's were sounding crazy good for $4695 and as always, the 28sst2's impress!

I hate when people say "best sound/bang for the buck". It makes stuff sound cheap and almost comes off as being disrespectful towards the manufacturer.

Same here. This" bang for the buck" is a telltale sign of a "cheapo" that put's limits on quality. It is rather insulting to the ideal....IMO

Hi Folks,

It is interesting the 'bang for the buck comments' as most people will guess the Middle T speakers are $10,000 to $12,000 a pair and it is only when you tell them ... no $4600 a pair that 'bang for the buck' enters the conversation. :duh:

It does not bug me that much though as one of my prime goals with the Bryston speakers was to provide state of the art sound at prices which were much more affordable for the our customer. Also you have to remember that there has to be some justification to charge $30,000 a pair!!!

How about the term " the law of diminishing returns" instead? Personally the phrase  "bang for the buck" doesn't bother  me much.

It was good to see and hear James Tanner's Bryston Middle T ($4,500 for the pair) full range speakers in an elegant natural cherry vinyl veneer.

The 4 Ohm speakers were powered by Bryston's 28BSST amps, and digital sources from the BDA-2 and BDP-2 digital player. The new Middle T features two 8" woofers with the 5.25" mid-range and 1" tweeter. I also liked the out-rigger adjustable spiked feet.

I will honestly say, this is the best sounding Bryston speaker to date. Tremendous depth, rich and transparent. The room offered a wide soundstage.

Very worthy of consideration for one of the best speakers I've heard today.

Thanks again for blowing or minds at the CES Show

Hi James,

Neither of us has gotten home yet, but we were so blown away by your demo, that I decided it would be foolish to wait to own a model T pair, in black ash please.

By the way, does T stand for Tanner?

Thanks again for entertaining Joy and me.

Best,
Marc

In previous years, Bryston and Thiel exhibited together, since their products did not compete. Now they do, and so they abandoned their large ballroom section for separate rooms in the tower.

Bryston did very well, showing its $4500 Middle T speakers.

They sounded excellent!
