I'm goin' down to Detox Mansion
Way on down by Last Breath Farm
Been rakin' leaves with Liza
Me and Liz clean up the yard

Well it's tough to be somebody
And it's hard not to fall apart
Up here on Rehab Mountain
We all learn these things by heart...

She said I was seeing double for three straight days after I got born again
It felt strange but it was nice and peaceful
It really pleased me to be around so many people
Of course half of them visions
Half of them were friends from going through the program with me
Later on we did some sexy things
Took a couple photographs and carved them into wood reliefs
Hey, but that's enough about me
Tell me how you got down here into Ybor City

I've been working on a cocktail called "Grounds For Divorce "
Polishing a compass that I hold in my sleeve.
Doubt comes in on sticks but then he kicks like a horse
There's a Chinese cigarette case but the rest you can keep.

There's a hole in my neighborhood down which
Of late I cannot help but fall...
Mondays are for drinking to the Seldom-Seen Kid.

What's the use in keep on fightin'?
All the tears, all the cryin'
Why do we keep denyin'?
It's over
In all the time I thought I knew ya
Don't forget our children's future
I would do whatever suits ya
Oh ye-ah!
It's over
It's over

And in the end
The the love you take
Is equal to the love you make.

I'll make my supper
... 'bout ten oclock,
and watch the moon rise
... above my block,
and go to bed
... in just my socks,
and I'll be happy
... just by myself

...and if I had to do it all again...
I don't know if I 'd play the Poet Game

Don't tell me what the poets are doing
Don't tell me that they're talkin' tough
Don't tell me that they're anti-social
Somehow not anti-social enough, all right

I'm sentimental, if you know what I mean
I love the country but I can't stand the scene.
And I'm neither left or right
I'm just staying home tonight...

I can't go home
'Cuz I know what I'm gonna find there...
I can't go home
'Cuz I know what I'm gonna find there...
The neighbors have told me,
My friends have, too
They say " Young Bob, if you go there
Things won't be cool.
Things are gonna be hard there
And you can't go home..."

Said she knew I know we know I do
said she gotta see me lonely with you.
Oceans may travel, away too long
senses in the gravel, to see yourself at home
nice to be at home
all I'll ever do forever

River gonna take me
Sing me sweet and sleepy
Sing me sweet and sleepy
all the way back back home
It's a far gone lullaby
sung many years ago
Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come
since I first left home

Goin home, goin home
by the waterside I will rest my bones
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul

River, river carry me on
Living river carry me on
River, river carry me on
To the place where I come from

So deep, so wide
Will you take me on your back for a ride?
If I should fall
Would you swallow me deep inside ?

River show me how to float
I feel like I'm sinking down
Thought that I could get along
But here in this water
My feet won't touch the ground
I need something to turn myself around.

I've been down one time
And I've been down two times
But right now I'm drowning
Drowning in the sea of love
Sea of love

Life isn't what is seems
I'm forever drifting into dreams
Such a sad affair
to always be drifting into air

It's a god-awful small affair
To the girl with the mousy hair
But her mommy is yelling "No"
And her daddy has told her to go
But her friend is nowhere to be seen
Now she walks through her sunken dream
To the seat with the clearest view
And she's hooked to the silver screen
But the film is a saddening bore
'Cause she's lived it ten times or more
She could spit in the eyes of fools
As they ask her to focus on
Sailors fighting in the dance hall
Oh man! look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man! Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars?

Sitting in the stand of the sports arena
Waiting for the show to begin
Red lights, green lights, strawberry wine,
A good friend of mine, follows the stars,
Venus and mars are alright tonight

I miss the Earth so much, I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight

Oh what a time we had
Living on the ground
I've moved to station #5
See you next time around,
Next time around...

There's a starman waiting in the sky
Hed like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
Hes told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
