eBay choose Mil Spec teflon 12
You will get short list of Teflon coated silver plated 12 gauge wires.. This is the wire you want cheap. I made some speaker cables from it way back when it could be bought in 600' spools on eBay for well under a hundred bucks.. I used it on my Maggies and it is nearly as good as $400 worth of Kimber 8TC, but for maybe $20.
Quad twist is the best way to run the wire.

I used Straightwire Waveguide 2.0 bulk 14 gauge for wiring my HT.  CL3 rated for in wall use, too.  It is available from the Cable Co. for $24.00 for 30 ft. for the minimum order, which should be enough for your application.

Thanks to all who have given great suggestions.

Decided to go with two types. KnuKonceptz cables and Blue Jean White 10s.
Both seem to have pure copper strands and great reputation. Was able to snag 70ft of the KnuKonceptz (14 gauge) for several runs for office and workout room and 2 sets of runs at different short lengths of Blue Jean Cables (10 gauge) for family room.

I've got some Analysis Plus cables for my tube amp that I love, but did not want to spend that much again...

Bored after a couple days more vacation here in NE Ohio and I went to Home Depot, bought a 50' 14g outdoor extension cord in bright blue.  Two leads to the Pos and one to the neg.  I am very happy with them.  I cannot give a glowing detailed report, but I CAN say for the money I cannot complain at all.  I even think I hear better bass and felt a bit more in your face dynamics on big orchestral pieces. Maybe! $29 for the cord, cheap banana plugs and daddy daughter time as we cut, soldered, assembled them up together this morning. Zero complaints so far and I even like the crazy, fat blue cables.

I use Signal Cable and JW Audio (http://www.jwaudio.net/).
The JW Cryo Nova is real cheap. But it sounds real good. Thin and stiff....because of cryo treatment?

My 14 awg RadioShack speaker Megacable, does a good job carrying the signal >
My lower-end to higher-end speakers sound good - when the internal speaker wire
and crossover networks receive that signal, to feed the drivers.

My idea of a budget cable that sounds better than average would be Kimber 4VS.

I'm a fan of the Emotiva cables. Picked some up during their last sale and found they were a nice upgrade over the Radio Shack cables I had. Very well made.

Mogami 3103. Inexpensive (less than $3 per foot) and very high quality cable.  I've tried quite a few budget speaker cables, but the Mogami is in a different league.

Here are the specs on the Mogami website http://www.mogamicable.com/category/bulk/speaker_cable/conventional_configuration/

Depends how low is budget.  There is radio shack < Blue Jean Cables < Grover Huffman.  I wouldn't go higher than grover, his cables are amazing.
