The PM6004 was recently replaced by the PM6005 (which adds a digital input and $100 to the list price).  Music Direct may have gotten a good deal on the remaining inventory of last year's model.

I purchased the Marantz PM-6004 about a year ago at a much higher price.  It provides a highly musical pairing with Pioneer SP-BS22-LR speakers in my office system.
