An interesting comment- that's exactly the phrase I had in mind when I first saw the design.
These look like a very good addition to your line. In my very lossy room the lower end power is about all I missed from the Tempestas. I bet these pressurize such a room much better.

Congrats Rick on another great speaker design. What size room should this speaker be used in to get the best results, and what is that finish, very nice..

I usually don't think in terms of room size but more of what the dimensions are and how the speakers will be positioned. That said, you could use them in something like a 10'x12' room but of course they can fill one much larger than that. The tuning is low on the rear port and they actually did quite well at the RMAF show - probably better than any other floorstander that I've had on demo there.

The finish here is Ambrosia Maple. The spalting (streaks) and tiny holes are courtesy of the ambrosia beetle which gives the wood its' unusual character.
