RM40s on Tile
« on: 6 Aug 2004, 08:54 pm »
Is there anything I can put between the RM40s and tile to prevent wobbling?  Currently, I'm using spikes onto copper disks, then I adjust each spike individually.  I was thinking perhaps rubber pads?

Thanks!

If you can figure out how to have 3 points of contact there will be no wobble

Since my floors are concrete, I have similar problems with my RM40 and RM/X. After much experimenting (rubber, cork, coins, spikes, etc.), the best solution I have found is using leather strips. You can buy a 2 pound bag of leather scraps from Hobby Lobby for about $5. In this, you will likely find about 5 or 6 thicknesses and harnesses of leather (some paper-thin suede to 3/16 inch rigid pieces). Use the most rigid piece that keeps your speakers from wobbling and keeps your speaker perfectly vertical. On my floor, 2 straps about 1/2 inch thick by about 4 inches long do the trick.

Best of luck.
