Key Fobs

Need a new key fob.  2003 Montana mini van, nothing fancy.   :icon_lol:  Present one has lock/unlock, slider door open and panic.
What do I need to know?  How do you program?  Online places ok?
Any insight would be helpful.

An '03 General Motors remote shouldn't be too expensive?
Has to be programmed at a dealer though...to the best of my knowledge.

My best recommendation would be for you to call your local Chevy dealer and ask how much it would cost for a new one.

But here's one on Ebay for $25

Thanks guys, I will call them.  Wasn't sure on programing requirements.  I figured the dealer would be the most money but if they have to program it then I might as well start there.  It works but the key ring hole broke through.  maybe a learning remote would work.  She could strap that to her key ring.     naa.

I have the same problem, appears that my daughter lost one of the keys to our Lexus 350.

I was researching online, it has the same issue, replacement key needs to be programmed with special equipment.  It appears that there are locksmiths that can do it, and would be cheaper than the dealer.  For my car, online said it was around $300 for a replacement key from the dealer.  I will give them a call today, and also call some locksmiths to see if they can do it.

I found this place to get the keys from

EDIT:
One local dealer wanted $330 for the key and $50 for programming.  Said it would take 45 mins.
A local locksmith wants $230 for key and programming.  They would come to me and do it.

For a BMW, I think it was $150, programming included.  Still thievery.
