There will always be people who buy things that others think are overpriced junk. Example- how many Hondas, Nissans, etc do you see with those modified sounding tailpipes, carbon fiber hoods, deafening sound systems, etc. And while not "overpriced junk" how many people do you see around holiday time spending hundreds or even thousands making their houses light up brighter than the moon?

I don't mean to criticize them, they are just making choices that make sense to them but not to others - everyone has their own peer group to impress in their own way.

Great video, sort of looks like a stereo Jesse on "Breaking Bad" would have bought. It all makes me feel like an out of touch old man because I just don't get it. I also don't understand the fuss about twerking although it is fun to watch. Elvis was a tame twerker, in 1920 Josephine Baker set the twerking bar very high with her banana dance.

I found a full product demonstration. Turns out it's Bluetooth, so you can control it with a smart phone (the lights are controllable too). 

The demo is in Spanish, but he zooms the camera in close enough to read the buttons and also the connections on the back panel.
