I have all my music on a drive in WAV format, most ripped by dBpoweramp and I use a PC for playback.  Can these files also be played on a MAC? If yes, will all the metadata carry over?

Yes, the WAV files can be played on a MAC, but the extended header info that dBpoweramp writes to a WAV file has very limited compatibility.  I'm not sure which MAC programs might be able to read them if any, and for that reason most people use AIFF, FLAC or ALAC for cross platform compatibility with metadata tags.
