Thinking about putting my Rogue preamp on the block. Warm midrange with detailed highs and huge soundstage, very tubey. Unfortunately my new Revel gem's are also very warm in the midrange and more laidback in the highs unlike my previous ribbon speakers which were more sharpish in the highs with a more analytical mids. Looking for something more along the lines of ARC or BAT now...that would complement the speakers better.
Still a fine preamp to anyone looking to jump into tubes. I purchased the amp from the original owner about 1.5 years ago and ran the stock NOS tubes for a while. Rolled RCA clear tops 12au7, and NOS Mullard CV4003. I liked the Mullards the most and will include all three pairs in the sale. I only listen to the setup on weekends so the tubes don't have too many hours on them. Only thing about Rogue amps is that they're picky with the tubes so you have to shell out a little more for non microphonic tubes, matched and low noise. The Mullards alone from Upscale Audio were ~130$ for the pair. I had to return a pair because of the noise from a channel. Rogue amps are notorious for this.
The preamp is silver and is the remote version without the phono stage. Separate power supply.
