Yesterday as the sleet started to fall UPS recalled all of their trucks. I did not get any deliveries and my outgoing did not get picked up. They are not running today either. So nothing will go out until Monday.

And the sleet is a good 1/2" layer on everything. Roads are solid ice.

Good thing we have some groceries and some firewood stocked up. If the electricity stays on we'll be just fine. I hope the rest of you guys are staying warm.

The effects of freezing rain can be beautiful, but it often wreaks some real havoc.  Stay warm!

Snowing pretty good in Cincinnati. Driveway was ice, weather alerts out till Saturday. Looks cool when the ice freezes on the trees.....
Drive careful.....

Wow,  sounds like some of "our' cold air is making it way down south !
Hpe all that weight of the sleet/ice doesn't  take down  your power too

Been cold  up here for a bit now,  just waiting on the FedEx  dude to drop of my liner  so I can  get the rink going this afternoon,  supposed to hit  -20 overnight tongith

We got some of it here in Northeast Oklahoma too. A couple of years ago I installed a gas wall furnace that doesn't rely on electricity so if the power goes out I can still heat the main floor of the house. Stocked up on food that can be cooked on the Coleman camp stove if need be. We should be set even with the rest that is forecast for the weekend.  In a little while I get to go crank up the snow blower we bought a couple of years ago, but haven't used yet, and go clean of the driveway.

Is it pretty common for  you guys way down south to get  sleet/snow./ice  ?   Funny,  never really thought  you'd get much winter down that  way  but  I guess you do ....

Its pretty much what your use to.
Up here its -41C (thats the same in F) with the wind chill.
Watching for frostbite, and starting the vehicles every 4 hours at work.

We get it pretty bad sometimes, but it doesn't last long. Our biggest problem is that we don't have the road clearing equipment to respond quickly to a ton of ice or snow. A little snow will shut down all the schools.

Here in Charlotte today (Friday) we are having one of those 70+ degree F days that we can get in December, January, or February. First a few days of rain/mist, then this day with some wind, then a few more days predicted of rain with slightly cooler temperatures.

We could also have an ice storm at any time  :P

My friend just flew back from Indianapolis, where it was 27F with snow - quite a contrast for her.

Hey everybody!  Winter is tough for sure.  Had a 2 degree day today a little bit outside of MInneapolis.  Very early in the season for such garbage.  We just need to "be cool"
relax, be safe and all will be well.

Well since I am waiting for the first open baffle kit ( Hint Danny) I am finishing my other reverse trike build in the basement shop. The weather does not affect me here  and I and I am in Wisconsin :thumb:

Well it's been snowing all day on/off and I'm at the 10" mark so far, and more coming tonight. I'm in Ashland, Oregon.

Hi all Audio Circle members.
Here in (Saigon) Vietnam,
today it's 88F and tomorrow it will be 90F.
No winter here.
No snow here and Santa Claus won't venture in hot like hell Vietnam.
I don't really miss the cold, however, I do miss the white powdery stuff called snow.
By the way, next month I am going to Hong Kong on a business trip
and the Hong Kong thermometer might be around 15C which for me is Siberian temperature,
since I've been expose to 30C almost all year round for the past 18 years.
