A few days ago I received Wayne's new creation, the Lynx IC.  I have only one pair and it sits between my DAC and my pre.  It uses WBT Nextgen copper RCA terminations.

It is quieter, meaning the blacks are blacker, and micro details are more evident.  It gets me closer to the music then the Nitro's.

Highest recommendation............

Thanks Marbles,

The name of the new cable is not set in stone. I would welcome all members to share their thoughts on a good name for my new top end cable.

The interconnect is made in a modified star quad geometry. It uses 99.9995% pure solid core silver for the signal conductor and 99.9999% pure solid core copper for the ground. It is shielded with the shield attatched at the source end and uses a capacitor on the load end to filter out EMI and ground RFI.

The Gold plated copper NextGen connectors are standard and the Silver NextGen will be available as an option. Ball Park price will be $600.00 for a meter pair.

Tell me about the sheild and the capacitor.  What is the sheild made of?

What size is the cap and what frequencies does it filter?

Normally I hate caps in the signal path, but I can't hear any negatives with this one.

Marbles,

The cap is not in the signal path. The shield is not in the signal path.

It is a "telescoping" shield in that it covers the signal wires. It is the same braided shield that is used in the digital cable I make and the Nitro
interconnect. On the Nitro, the load end is left floating. On the digital cable it uses the same capacitor to connect to ground.

It is made from tinned copper.

Bubba,

No pictures. Marbles has my prototype. It went off to Indiana before I got around to getting out my camera. I will be building at least one more pair shortly and I will post a picture when they are done.

Does it sound different if the copper and silver are switched to from ground/signal? How about all copper or all silver? :?

oh, forgot a name, Transfusion.

Damn wish I had thought of that!

My father was a captain in the Marines a long time ago, he left before 1960.
He told me that it was C2 when he was in the service.
Guess it's gotten a bit more explosive since then  :D

And if you made a cheaper looking version that's nearly as good but not as fancy looking, you could call it the "Semtex."  :P
