Fellow Vinylholics:

Check out the Record Store Day Black Friday specials, http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialReleases. I'm looking to get my hands on the Doors, Grateful Dead, Harry Nilsson, Roy Orbison and U2 releases for starters.  :thumb:

Hi vinyl_lady (Laura) and all Audio Circle members.
Thanks for the link, I am always looking for vinyl, especialy grounps from the 60s.
However, I never buy a vinyl or CD without listening to samples.
I recently bought vinyl (Adele) from Amazon and some vinyl did not have samples,
therefore I did not buy them.

Guy 13,
Not sure I understand your reasoning? Can you elaborate or explain further?

Thanks in advance,     :D

My explanation would be, not exactly knowing what my buddy Guy 13 means exactly, is that many reissues are done digitally and they whip out a vinyl version. I bought the Clash London Calling reissue, maybe the one on the Record Store Day is different, but it was terrible, so I gave it to one of my daughters and kept my American original. I have heard the British version is great, though. Anyway, the reissue had plain paper sleeves, not the picture sleeves that came with the original.

I often check out stevehoffman.tv on reissues as there are usually a bunch of posts from people who have multiple copies of these treasured old albums.

Other reissues, like Tea for the Tillerman or the Grateful Dead boxed set of the first five albums, are lovingly recreated and are "spot on." Some are good even though they are digital.

How about my Beatles box reissue last year? I wound up buying a Beatles Blue Box and giving the "new" digitally done records to (another one of) my daughter.

However, living in the sticks as I do, I don't have the luxury to hear things ahead of time. Anyway… Happy Thanksgiving. Love you guys and gals!

Hi Minn Mark and all Audio Circle members.
My reasonning is the following:
In the past or should I say a long long time ago,
when I was younger, much younger
and when I bought vinyl more often than today,
it happens so many time that I bought vinyl according to friends recommendations and did not like the type of music or the singer or out of twenty tracks
I only liked one, it was a waste of money.
Therefore, when I shop on Amazon,
I must hear the sample of each track to make sure there are enough tracks
I like, so my purchase is worthed.
An artist or musician is not always top notch on every relaease.
As far as re-issue, never bought any, maybe in the futur, especially artist from the 60-70 like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Beach Boy, The Who, etc...
Up to now, after many hours of browsing, Amazon is the site I like the most.
Last month, I bought 2 vinyl of Adele and three CD of Anumusic, Chesky (Binoral)
and Adele to compare vinyl vs CD, I am still setting up my system, therefore connot comments now.
I hope this is a better reasonning for you?

Hi Paul orthobiz and all Audio Circle members.
Is orthobiz your real name?
Just joking, I am sure it's not.
Thanks for your comments, however, I gave Minn Mark a (Hopefully) clear explanation and/or a more detailled reasonning.
May I ask where you bought the Beatles Blue Box and how much you paid,
I might be interetsed.
The Beatles are the ones that make me interested in music, singer that is.
You say you live in the sticks, you should try Vietnam,
my God, they are twenty years behind the rest of the world
and that's why I call Vietnam:
Planet Vietnam..
Everything I bought from Amazon is shipped to my wife's nephew in Seattle and brought as cary on baggages when relatives or friends are coming my way.
I miss my civilized country Canada.

Roscoeiii scoped out the Blue Box for me, I think I paid 275 because the outer box was ragged and damaged. I didn't really care. Abbey Road had an unfortunate scratch, but I have a really good MoFi copy that's just fine by me.

I wondered where the heck was Magical Mystery Tour, but it's not in the box! I have the double 7" 33.3 gatefold British release anyway. And I bought a decent Horzü copy off eBay, interesting because apparently it's the only all-stereo version. I never knew a few of the songs on MMT were in Mono!

My Blue is a keeper…OK, back to the thread...

Check out pop market dot com, they are having hourly deals all day tomorrow. I'm not buying this year, though, although an 8 LP Sly & Family Stone box sounds interesting! Oh, it starts at MIDNIGHT!
