I'd appreciate it if someone would take the time to explain this to me.
In Win 7 64 Bit, is the ASIO driver supplied in the DAC's USB driver ?

The reason I ask is with the two DACS I have, ASIO is no longer available in JRiver 18.0.212.
When I select ASIO as my Output Mode, no device is available under Output Mode Settings.
I'm sure that it used to be there.
Could I have two corrupt drivers, or could Win 7 be corrupt ?

I might be wrong but I don't think windows has native ASIO drivers.  You need to get Windows 7 compatible ASIO drivers from the DAC manufacturer.

J.River provides several ASIO and WASAPI drivers on installation and your DAC manufacturer may or may not provide specific drivers for their hardware.

In Media Center 18.0.212, after selecting the ASIO Output Mode and then clicking on Output Mode Settings, you will not directly see the sound devices in the ASIO Settings dialog, but after selecting the specific ASIO driver under the Device section if you click on 'Open Driver Control Panel' under the Tools section, you should see the sound devices for both Output and Input ports.

On my system, the Device Name fields are blank, but it you highlight the row, the device name appears directly under the selection window.

Thanks so much. Yours is the only reply that made sense, but the problem persists.
ASIO is selected as my Output Mode. When I open ASIO Settings, the Device Section is grayed out and unresponsive.
When I try to open the Driver Control Panel, nothing happens.
See the attached screen grab.
Any other ideas?

See if selecting the Direct Sound driver and then the ASIO driver helps:

1. Under Output Mode, select 'Direct Sound'

2. Under Output Mode Settings, you should be able to select your USB DAC with the Device dropdown, then click OK

3. Click OK to close the Options dialog

4. Open Tools > Options again and this time select ASIO

5. See if the ASIO dropdown under Output Mode settings is no longer greyed out and you are able to select the particular ASIO driver and also are now able to open the Driver Control Panel.

Thanks, but no go.
I chose Direct Sound, and I'm able to select my DAC.
Click O.K., close the dialogue box.
Re open Output Mode, select ASIO, but the Output Mode Settings is still grayed out.
Any ideas what may be causing this ?

I can't tell if you clicked OK a second time to completely close the Options dialog as well before reselecting the Output Mode.  If you have, or if you hadn't and it makes no difference, it sounds like you may need to reinstall the manufacturer supplied USB ASIO drivers for your DACs as it appears JRMC is not finding an ASIO driver. I'm using S/PDIF, so your USB DACs may behave differently than my S/PDIF DAC does, and it's entirely possible I may have installed a generic ASIO driver at some point in the past, and there are none installed by default with JRMC.

Is there a reason that you are wanting to use an ASIO driver versus the available WASAPI or Kernel Streaming drivers available to you with Windows 7, which for many are the preferred driver choices?

I did click the second time.

First DAC is Mytek. ASIO used to be available in JRiver.
I then had a friend's Lampizator G4/L4 in my system for about a month. I never tried ASIO w/the Lampi.
When I re-introduced the Mytek to my system, ASIO was no longer available.
I put the Lampi back in, no ASIO available.
I'm trying to find out if the Lampi supports ASIO.

No updates or software changes were made.
Wasapi is still available, and is my preferred output, but I'm trying to find out what happened to my ASIO.

Look in your installed programs list and see if the driver for the Mytek shows up.   If you installed a L4 driver, it might have an issue with the Mytek driver.  Try deinstalling the L4 driver and see if the ASIO capability returns.  If not, I would deinstall and reinstall the Mytek driver in Win7.

Amanero just posted an updated driver on their site.
I uninstalled both the Mytek and Amanero drivers.
Installed the new Amanero driver, and ASIO has returned for the Lampizator.
I'll try the Mytek ASAP.
