Am looking for an inexpensive (but reliable with good picture quality) Blu-ray/DVD solution to play VOB files via multiple USB hard drives.  I have a base-level Sony machine that isn't supposed to play them.....but does.  Unfortunately, it plays VOB files but doesn't allow me to use the DVD menus for VOB movies.  Just fine for DVD feature movies (except foreign titles with subtitles), but not so good for TV show DVDs (read: it is difficult to get directly to the a particular episode within the VOB file.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.  I can always repurpose my existing DVD player for my daughter's stereo system.

Thanks,  -dB

Thought I'd try again: does anyone know a decent, reasonably-priced Blu-Ray player that supports VOB-format input via USB?

Sorry, I wish I could help. Not even sure what VOB is.

VOB is the standard format stored on a DVD.  When you rip a DVD to a hard  drive, it is stored in VOB.  Although it is an undocumented feature, my base-level Sony reads VOB files but won't read VOB menus -- fine for movies, not so good for TV show episodes.

Still looking.....
